Also called Hot Banana Pepper. A Hungarian C. annuum that starts yellow and ripens to red. Popular in both Hungarian and American gardening. The waxy skin and thick walls make it great for pickling. 1,000–15,000 SHU — variable enough that some are quite mild and others have real kick. Yellow is the default ripe color.
