Scotch Bonnet
The original and most iconic Scotch Bonnet — the YELLOW Jamaican landrace. Named for resemblance to a Tam o'Shanter (Scotch bonnet) hat. Defines Jamaican jerk seasoning and Caribbean cooking. Fruity, tropical aroma with intense heat (100,000–350,000 SHU). Yellow at maturity is the canonical color; red, orange, chocolate, and other variants exist as separate stable selections. Closely related to but distinct from the Habanero — common ancestor, different pod shape and flavor profile.
